COUNTDOWN AND SIGNALS
Tacho-Timer 3 displays the time and warns when the countdown is ending. After installation, we explain the differences between the modes and how to read the signals.
Select the 29- or 58-second mode using the button on the front panel. The modes differ in when the countdown starts and how the manoeuvre window is used.
The display shows the time, while red and green lights indicate the cycle phases. An audible warning sounds 10 seconds before the movement window ends.
We check tachograph compatibility and agree on the mounting position and connections. At collection, we demonstrate mode selection and explain the device signals.
ACTIVITY RECORDING
The tachograph records activities in minutes using its activity allocation rules. For a short manoeuvre, both its duration and its position within the minute cycle matter. The timer helps monitor the time window but does not change the tachograph recording rules.
The device does not select the activity for the driver. Finish moving before the indicated window ends and select the activity that matches what you are actually doing.
INSTALLATION AT SCT
Provide the tachograph manufacturer, model and version, plus vehicle details. We will confirm whether Tacho-Timer 3 can be used and what installation is needed.
We select a position where the driver can see the display clearly. We agree on the price and appointment before your visit.
We install the device and check the countdown and signals with the tachograph in your vehicle.
We explain both modes, warnings and how to finish a manoeuvre. We also discuss the difference between a recorded activity and actual rest.

PRACTICAL ANSWERS
Compatibility must be checked for the specific tachograph model and version. Send the device details or a photo of its technical printout. We will confirm installation suitability before your visit.
No. In this mode the timer runs in a fixed cycle, regardless of when the vehicle starts moving. The green light indicates the movement window. It is not 58 seconds of driving available from any chosen starting point.
No. Rest is time that the driver can freely use. A rest symbol recorded by the tachograph does not by itself establish compliance. Exceptional vehicle repositioning is assessed according to the circumstances; European Commission Guidance Note 3 requires a manual record of the interruption and, where possible, confirmation of the instruction.
We confirm the device price, availability and installation cost in response to your enquiry. Provide the tachograph model and version plus vehicle details so we can prepare a specific quote.
Yes. We demonstrate mode selection, reading the display and the light and sound signals. We also explain why monitoring manoeuvring time does not replace taking proper breaks and rest periods.
